It's Sweater Season: 4 Outfit Ideas

The winter season is usually a dull, colorless, and cold season, but your clothing style doesn't have to mimic that. It's time to wear layers of beautiful fabrics like wool, satin, leather, and faux fur. Sweaters are made of fabrics to keep you warm, cozy, and stylish all at the same time. See below for outfit ideas to wear this winter season that will be anything but dull.

1. Turtleneck

Pair a loose-fitting turtleneck sweater in any color you choose with a pair of skinny jeans and some great faux-suede booties to match. Wear a cross-body or long strapped purse with minimal accessories such as a gold watch or bracelet. Wear your hair in a casual style. Change this look up a bit to make it even more casual by pairing it with a pair of distressed jeans and sneakers. This is a great outfit to wear out shopping or for a lunch date out.

2. Cardigan

Cardigans can be worn in multiple ways, which make them a great wardrobe staple. Pair your cardigan with a pair of your favorite leggings for a casual look, or with a great pair of faux-leather skinny pants to dress it up. It can be worn with jeans, skirts, and a dress as well. Look for cardigans that can be worn in multiple ways such as a chunky knit in a neutral color or a slim fitting, light-weight one that can also be worn in warmer temperatures.

3. Poncho

Ponchos are a trendy piece this season. Look for a neutral solid color poncho or a great plaid one. Pair your poncho with a pair of skinny jeans and thigh-high faux-suede boots, along with minimal accessories such as a great felt floppy hat, or wear it over that little black dress and a pair of heeled booties to help stay warm.

4. Layers

Wear a basic rounded neckline sweater and add a few layers to it to add texture and color to your outfit. Layer a great plaid such as black/white beneath your favorite colored sweater. Wear it with a chunky statement necklace and a watch or bracelet, along with a pair of jeans and knee-high boots to complete your look. Keep hair down and casual with this look.

These outfits can be worn by anyone and will look great. Some of these pieces you probably already have in your closet. Invest in some new staple wardrobe pieces, then mix and match with things you already own to change up your look. For more information, contact local professionals like Wooden Ships.

About Me

Dressing Young And Hip

I have always been someone who loves dressing young and hip, but a few months ago, I realized that my style was looking a little dated. I realized that some of my older clothes were coming back in style, so I invested a lot of time and energy into making a change. I started shopping at new boutiques, working on my attitude, and focusing on spending more time with the younger crowd. It was incredible to see how much of a difference my actions made, and before I knew it I was feeling younger than ever before. Check out this blog for more information on dressing young and hip.
